Dementia Care

Dementia is not a specific disease. It's an overall term that describes a wide range of symptoms associated with a decline in memory or other thinking skills that reduce ability to perform everyday activities. Alzheimer's disease accounts for 60 to 80 percent of cases. People with dementia may have problems with short-term memory, keeping track of a purse or wallet, paying bills, medications, planning and preparing meals, remembering appointments etc. Unfortunately, as the symptoms progress, rational and complex thinking may become increasingly impaired.

Since no two people experience Dementia alike, the degree of care assistance and support needed varies between people. Trained in working to support dementia sufferers, our care plan will seek to establish a daily routine in meals, personal hygiene and shopping and in maintaining some regularity. We can also help with calendar notes, medication schedules and other reminders. We can also assist in preparing customers to get ready for visiting their local day-centres. It is important that elders have independence in there home, that is why elderly care at home Windsor and elderly care at home Ascot is important.
