Our purpose is to provide quality support to enable the elderly to continue to have the choice to remain at home for as long as they want. We only ever wanted to be considered as a high quality care provider and have designed our management, processes, recruitment and training to reflect that aspiration. We are unwilling to compromise on the level of service quality.
Our customer base has been largely generated through customer referrals. We know that homecare work is not easy to get right. There are plenty of opportunities for miscommunication and misunderstanding and confusion. We believe this can only be avoided by good management practices, policies, systems and training. Customer satisfaction in what we do and how we do it has always been vitally important to us. Our own positive customer feedback is well supported and reinforced by independent care reviewers including those found on-line at homecare.co.uk.Ultimately, the Care Quality Commission’s inspection results also demonstrate our efficiency and quality. We have never been rated as less than GOOD in every aspect of our service. We work hard to maintain that rating. Our latest inspection results here.
Tailored care designed to meet individual needs
Ours is a quality service by design. We strongly believe that quality care is a matter of a good understanding of the individual needs of each customer, delivered by good staff that are directed and co-ordinated through good organisation. We recognise that the care needs in an elderly population will change over time and that regular review of care needs and leading to revised care planning is essential.
We are totally committed to the safety of our customers in an environment free from the potential of all types of abuse. All our care workers undergo full disclosure by the Disclosure and Barring Service (former known as CRB) and referenced prior to undertaking any care visits. All staff are trained to national Care Certificate standards including compulsory training in safe moving and handling as well as safeguarding policies and practices.
Extra touch of care
Many thanks for this morning’s phone call- most kind of you to take the time and trouble. It is thoughtful gestures such as this which add that extra touch of care to Halcyon Homecare and they are greatly appreciated.
I am very glad that we chose Halycon for Uncle Phil. You have always had his interests at heart and have offered very much a personal service that has inspired confidence. I have always trusted your judgement and in your management of his Alzheimers.
The home assessment was carried out in the most professional manner and the carers were always on time and treated our mother with the utmost care and friendliness. Halcyon appears to employ carers who have real empathy with clients and who will go the second mile wherever possible. We would have no hesitation in recommending them to those who were in our position. Halcyon did a wonderful job for us.

This was the first care company my Aunt contacted and if she had contacted 100, I don’t think she would have found a better one!

Quality Care Workers supported by Quality Systems
We recognise the advantages of technology to speed up the communication of changing needs and in providing reassurance and information to family members on what has happened during a care visit or following an incident. Our systems and technology allow us to monitor in real-time how the various calls are progressing and if necessary to contact a customer if it looks like a care worker is running late or where we need to change the carer that is scheduled to visit. We make all our care reports available on line for customer families through our customer on-line portal at no extra charge.
Our care staff are ultimately the reason why customers are so willing to recommend our services to others. They are recruited for their caring values and interest in working with people. We have a track record of taking people new to care and in training them to a high level. All our care workers are regularly ‘spot-checked’ on the job to maintain standards and follow a regular programme of training and refresher training. We are proud of our record of training staff in national NVQ (or equivalent) Level 2 and 3 qualifications in Health and Social Care.
